November 07 Voodoo Art Submitted to Brickfish's Show Us Your Art 2 ContestDecember 26 Spell CastingSpell CastingGreetings! So you want to cast a black magic spell, hex someone, or stick a pin into a Voodoo doll to get back at that certain someone who has rubbed you the wrong way? Maybe you want to get someone out of the way so that you can get the person you are attracted to. Maybe you don't want to hurt anyone, really, but you would like them to shut up already with the gossiping and the bad mouthing. Or maybe you want them dead. But, you don't necessarily want to be the one to do it, or you have tried and it hasn't worked. So what do you do? You look on the internet and Google "voodoo spells", black magic", "free Voodoo curse", "voodoo curses", "New Orleans Voodoo", "Marie Laveau Voodoo", "how to do Voodoo", "Voodoo witchdoctor", "how to make a Voodoo doll", "voodoo spells", etc. You find something resembling a quick fix, spend your hard-earned money, get your spell, and do what it says - more or less. Then you wait, and wait, and wait...If you are reading this blog, then I assume that you do not find it hard to believe that people seek metaphysical means of accomplishing revenge, amnong other things. I receive so many requests for spell casting services that I decided to write a little about it in order to better serve my current and future customers. Here you can read about the basics of how I operate and where you can find evidence of my qualifications. Of course, you are invited to visit my website The Mystic Voodoo to find out more information about the art of Voodoo. Who I AmOn the WWW, I am known as Voodoo Mama. I was born and raised in New Orleans and yes, I have knowledge of the art and craft of New Orleans Voodoo. To get to know me better, please visit Welcome to my World where you can read a rather lengthy autobiography about me and my background. In addition, I am a transpersonal cultural psychologist and conduct myself in a manner that upholds my profession. You can read about my professional credentials and experience here: http://denisealvarado.wordpress.com/. You are also free to ask me any questions concerning my experience at any time. Email: voodoomama@mysticvoodoo.com.How I WorkWhen I do spellwork for someone, I prefer to work as a partnership with that person. That way, the individual has some ownership for any changes that may occur and feels empowered. I work via email only at this point in time. When you contact me, I will ask questions in order to get the information I need to select the proper work. I make a recommendation only after I feel I have enough information about you, your situation, and your intent. I come up with a plan of action, give you some instructions for your part, and together, we ask the Spirits for the change you seek. The work I do will be tailored to you and your needs. What I Don't Do (and why it really doesn't suck)I do not do spells that are designed to harm someone else.
I will not make false promises to you and give you false hope. I will not tell
you what you want to hear just to take your hard earned money. I will not do for
you what you can do for yourself. I will not steer you down a dark and dangerous
path. I will not disrespect or dishonor the loa, orishas, spirits, ancestors, goddesses, gods, or
the Divine in any way, shape, or form. I will not create disharmony or bad
karma, so don't ask.
Why this doesn't suckIf you thought life was throwing you a curve ball before attempting to work left handed magick, wait until after you have tried to hex someone. Your life will become more chaotic and out of control, and you may experience karmic backslap and you or your loved ones may be hurt in the process. Remember the old adage - whatever you do will come back to you. All religious and magickal systems have guidelines for such activity. One of the most popular is the Wiccan Rede, which reflects the ethics of the neopagan religion of Wicca:
Aleister Crowley's twist on the subject was Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law, followed by Love is the Law, love under Will. The Wiccan Rede has been liked to the Golden Rule (do unto others...) with one major exception: It does not forbid any behavior. This fact does not mean that there are no consequences for what you do; quite the contrary. A responsible magician, practitioner, witch, or whatever you want to call them, is fully aware of the consequences of spells designed with the intent to harm someone else and will not perform such magick. When these types of spells are cast, there are specific precautions taken to cleanse the negativity away and restore karmic balance. To read more about when hexing is appropriate, read Luisah Teish's book, Jambalaya. The art and craft of Hoodoo includes knowledge of both right and left handed conjuring. Indeed, most healers have knowledge of the shadow side of their craft. Without knowledge of the dark, there would be no way to define the light. But, knowledge of the left is not synonymous with practice of the left. Unfortunately, there are countless vendors who will sell you spells designed to satisfy your need for immediate gratification. Very few, if any of these sales are preceded by a conversation with a practitioner who takes the time to find out about your situation and offer alternative solutions to your problem and who advises against such activity. There is only one reason why this is the case - they want your money! And they will take it, free from all consiousness because they hide behind the legal diclaimer that typically states something to the effect of not being responsible for the outcome of any use of any product and products are sold as curio only. Sites that are willing to sell this stuff without any kind of consultation whatsoever is akin to the snake oil salesman in our not so distant past. BEWARE of these sites. Unless of course, you like throwing away your hard earned money. In which case, have I mentioned that I have a river in Egypt for sale? What I DoI will always tell you the truth about how I see your situation. I ask a lot of questions. I will empower you to make the changes you seek. I will give you your money's worth. I will explain the rationale behind my suggestions. I will do what I say I will do. I will keep your situation confidential. I will offer you the benefit of my experience and training.I also seem to have become the Dear Abby of Voodoo, which I don't really mind. Many of the emails I receive are from people who have purchased black magic spells from some other web sites with either no results or results gone awry. Many are desperate for relief; relief from their original problems as well as relief from new problems that have occurred as a result of attempting some evil spell. I answer all of my email personally, and offer solutions. Much of this I do free of charge simply because I am a healer, and a responsible practitioner. However, I am not codependent and I am not obligated to right the wrongs of others. If I feel you are sincere, I will help you. Depending on the time involved and damage done, I do appreciate some kind of offering. In all shamanistic practices, it is cutomary to make an offering to the healer you are seeking advice from. How to Request Spell Casting ServicesTo request spell casting services from Voodoo Mama, simply email me with your situation. If I feel I can help you, I will let you know. If I do not think I can help you, I will tell you why. If after we have discussed you situation, and you agree with the plan I suggest, then I request an upfront fee of $25.00 prior to any ritual conducted. There may be an additional fee, depending on your situation and the ceremony conducted.Email me: mysticvoodoo@mysticvoodoo.com. September 14 Greetings!Hey! Thanks for checking out the Mystic Voodoo's sneak preview space!
It is taking me so freakin' long to finish redesigning the Mystic Voodoo and I keep getting emails from folks about where the hell I am that I decided to get together a little sneak preview of what's coming for everyone. If you are looking to buy something or just interested in what is new, check out my photo album. If you see something you like, just email me and I can email you an invoice with an option to pay via paypal or check/money order. As usual, if you want to pay by check or money order I will ship the item as soon as the item clears. Everything ships priority mail for $6.00 irregardless of quantity (for now). Everything listed in the New Creations photo album is in stock and ready to go. Anything else will be a special order and I will need 2 weeks for creation and delivery time. Any questions, feel free to email me at mysticvoodoo@Lcom.net.
Okay, so the new website (I promise it is coming!) is quite a bit more detailed than the last. It is completely customized so I am really making it the way I want it. There are lots of cool new stuff, like links to full text sacred texts and downloadable music by my favorite new music gurus Studio Voodoo (www.studiovoodoomusic.com), and free Voodoo stuff, new books and of course new Voodoo dolls. While I have listed some new ones here, I am saving some new ones for the reopening of the site. Like... Ayeda Wedo and the World Egg, Papa Legba, Ogun, Yemaya, another Erzulie Dantor...to name a few. Other new products too like Sacred Space gift baskets, new spell kits, tarot readings, virtual reiki, wow...I could go on and on! So there is a lot to look forward to, and I hope you will check it out! I will send everyone and email when it is back up. Thanks for your patience!
If you really want something you don't see and can't wait, feel free to email me with your request. My loyal customers have been keeping me pretty busy that way and I don't mind at all.
In the meantime, I have been maintaining my other sites that tend to get left on the back burner when the Mystic Voodoo is up and running. Here's a partial list of pet projects all devoted to deconstructing the popular mythology surrounding Voodoo, and of course promoting my artwork :):
Okay, that's enough for now. If you visit any of my sites, make sure to leave some feedback to let me know you've been there and what you think. My web of intrigue continues to grow with every new request and inspiration! Later gators,
Voodoo Mama
